Roles of the clinical team for your annual review
Clinical pharmacists are health professionals who train for many years to become specialists in medicines. They can work directly with you as part of the clinical team to make sure your medicines help you to get better and stay well. They are highly trained to review patients with multiple long term conditions and/or complex prescriptions.
Our phlebotomists are highly skilled in taking blood samples for analysis at the laboratory in Leicester Royal Infirmary. They ensure that all the blood tests you require are taken to complete your comprehensive annual review.
Health Care Assistants play a pivotal role in the practice undertaking many of the long term condition reviews within the practice, specialising in hypertension, lifestyle advice and managing patients with well controlled diabetes.
Practice nurses form part of the clinical team treating minor illness, wound management, childhood health, family planning, women’s health, travel health advice and vaccinations and long term conditions such as diabetes, asthma or atrial fibrillation.
Your GP has overall responsibility for issuing your medication and ensuring that your annual review has been undertaken on an annual basis.
